PIRATE SHIP AT THE ZOO

Thanks to Pöttyös Túró Rudi, the Budapest Zoo and Botanical Garden has received a new outdoor playground: a real pirate ship.

The outdoor playground, worth HUF 10 million, was made using 16 m3 of wood, is 16.5 metres long, 6.5 metres wide and 7.5 metres tall. (Attached barges strictly prohibited :)) There are 40 metres of rope and 30 kg of screws built into the ship.

The Pöttyös Pirate Ship was first introduced at the Kids’ Island program in the summer of 2006 with tremendous success. After that, Pöttyös looked for a location where lots of kids could enjoy playing on it, and that’s why the zoo was chosen in the end.

Kids took over the vessel right away following the solemn opening ceremony, and many of them even dragged their parents onto the huge play-ship.
